Amazing! That’s all I could think of while watching Miyoko Shida Rigolo’s performance art. A circus performer can actually do this, even with a “cup on a cake, and a book on one hand!” But Miyoko puts elegance into it that takes you beyond the show. She makes you realize three things:
1. Anything is possible if you just concentrate
2. Never take anything for granted, no matter how small, just like that feather, take it away, and it clutters your life.
3. Balance = peace
So ask yourself after watching this video: Is your life balance- physically, emotionally, and spiritually? Are you focused? and most of all, are you at peace?
At my end, I realized I have a lot to work on for now
“I have nothing more to blog.”
1 million people use this same sentence on the net. And because of the Philippine Cyber Crime Law, I am guilty of libel already- that’s a decade of imprisonment!
Nicefood manufactures this cigarette candy
My favorite isle in the grocery is the sweets section. While going through different products, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw these candy cigarettes!
The idea of a five-year-old pretending to smoke these sweets makes me angry. Manufactured by Nicefoods, I wonder if the business owners have kids, because manufacturing them as sweets have an underlying context: A subliminal consent that smoking is good.
Candy Cigarettes were introduced in the early 20th century. It is plausible that these candies can influence children to smoke when they are older because later in the 70s, countries like the U.S., Canada, Ireland, Norway, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have already banned selling these candy cigarettes ( read here). Sadly, we have yet to realize the effects of these cigarette sweets to kids.
We all know that China, in its financial glory, has booming construction everywhere. Their skyscrapers can go as tall as 850 feet. They even built a stadium to host the 2008 Olympics! But beneath these beautiful architecture is a dark side of China’s development boom.
According to UK’s Daily Mail, Chinese government think tank warns that the country’s real estate bubble is getting worse. In the satellite image below, one would think that this town in China is well planned and developed. But when you enter the place, it is eerily quiet, stop lights work even without cars driving down the road, empty malls, and beautiful condominium units are still unoccupied.
Bayyanao is one of the many empty cities in China
Dongguan mall, supposedly the largest mall in asia, has been empty for the past six years.
It’s all about the math. The reason for the non-stop construction of China is to keep their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) up. But it’s not about the quantity of GDP but the quality. Even if they have all these developments, an ordinary Chinese cannot afford to buy a condo unit which costs around $100,000, and the average Chinese household earns $900 a month. An excellent documentary of the Business Insider (above) explains it well.

Princess Diana dancing with John Travolta
In my last blog, I wrote about a live shark being sold at SM hypermart for food. This time people’s taste in food have really gone relic. Would you eat a food with a piece of hair? Some people would, especially if it’s Princess Diana’s strand. Catering company Bompas and Parr made a preservative with the beloved royalty’s piece of hair!
AP reports that the jam called the “occult food”, and tastes like condensed milk, is being sold at almost P400 per jar. Currently being exhibited at London’s Barbican Art Gallery, that includes exhibits by Salvador Dali and Rene Margritte, the preservative, says the Bompas, is both food and art.
Anyone wants to hitch a ride?
Should President-elect Noynoy Aquino ride in the same limousine with outgoing President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on June 30? Heck, that’s going to be the most uncomfortable 30-minute or more ride for those two.
P-NOY said that he’s just doing the Malacañang-fetching-and-the -limo-riding with GMA out of tradition before his oath-taking ceremony on Wednesday. Since he has already veered away from saying his oath in front of Chief Justice Renato Corona- also a long-time tradition- perhaps, it would be better if he should stand his ground all through out.
Requesting The Foghat be played on the car’s stereo.
“Slow ride, take it easy – Slow ride, take it easy,
Slow ride, take it easy – Slow ride, take it easy.
I’m in the mood, the rhythm is right,
Move to the music, we can roll all night.
Oooh, oooh, slow ride – oooh, oooh …”
Beware: The Rape-aXe condom
Small capsule insert that turns into fangs
While sex education is being implemented on grade-schoolers here in the Philippines, on the other part of the globe, more specifically South Africa, they are addressing issues on rape.
If you collect hairy condoms, polka dot ones, or other weird shapes, this one is not for the fetish.
The Rape-aXe is a condom latex which is inserted into the vagina as a capsule. When the attacker is about to commit vaginal-rape, the barbs would attach on to the attackers penis that will create extreme pain. After the being encapsulated, he will then be branded a rapist. He has to admit himself to the hospital in order for the fanged condoms to be removed.
Designed by Dr. Sonnet Ehlers, she says the anti-rape condom cannot turn itself inside out, therefore, it cannot harm the woman.
It’s a bizarre design. But should women, who feels vulnerable in the violent-ridden society today, resort to this?
